I love it when a brand has enough confidence in their product to advertise it to people that they don’t know and are in no way obligated to tell them it’s a great product. It’s confident and admirable. However, I hate being the one to tell them that it’s not as good as they think.
The beauty beam is a small attachable light that projects a white beam in the direction of the make up applicator, all in all, good idea, lets you see what you’re doing in the dark. Except, who does their make up in the dark? I get the idea of it, it’s just not that good. It has a small elasticized strap on so you can fit it onto pretty much anything but this is a pain because it’s such a small item and brushes like the Real Techniques buffer are a little too big. Also, I’m left handed and I don’t know if it would be a pain to use as someone who is right handed but using it with my writing hand was not a pleasant experience, it’s very fiddly and gets in the way a lot and the light is never facing the right way. I hope someone else tries it so they can tell me whether it’s easy to use if you’re right handed or not.
I really wanted to like this product because it seems like such a cool little gadget but the use of it just isn’t what the name and packaging builds it up to be, I struggled using it, I don’t see the point in it unless you, for some strange reason, do your make up in the dark and it’s hard to put on. It does make for quite a nifty little pocket-size torch though.
If you think you can make this product work better than I did and write a more positive review then go ahead and buy a beauty beam here, if you do, make sure you let me know how it went for you on Twitter or Facebook!
