Writing is a very important aspect of my life, I put it before most things even when I sometimes shouldn’t. It’s like an addiction to me and because of this, I carry around a couple of essentials everywhere I go and I feel like if you do not carry these things around and you are a blogger or a writer or even a YouTuber then you could possibly be limiting yourself to things like your natural memory which unfortunately is unreliable in comparison to recorded things throughout the day and for this reason, I always always always carry around a pen and pad.
I cannot stress enough how important my notepads are to me, they come in handy so often when I’m hit with an idea in the middle of class or something and without them, I probably wouldn’t have half as many blog posts as I do now so in my opinion, something to jot down ideas in and keep them relatively organised is crucial.
Of course, what’s the point in a notebook if you don’t have a nice pen? This is just as important as the notepad, I love buying fancy new pens that make my writing look nicer than the average cheap ball point because it’s just so much more satisfying to write in a pretty pad with a pretty pen.
The third thing I always carry around with me is reading material. You can’t be a writer without being a reader as well and this is because we all need some sort of inspiration or research if you like. It will be easier to write a book if you’ve read one, right? Reading daily will help keep your mind stimulated which in turn, encourages you to do stuff, usually revolving around writing so don’t hesitate to invest in a Kindle or a few trips to Waterstones every month.
I hope this post wasn’t seen as completely useless, I just thought I should share three simple steps to help you organise your writing and keep track of things, it’s also a great way to never run out of ideas. Please tell me if you thought this post was helpful on Twitter or Facebook, I’d love to hear from you!
